OK, fine. Some former orphan kid came by a few days ago and asked me to teach her some of my dance moves. I was kind of touched. But don't tell anyone else that. She asked my secret and I told her just like what what's his name said to the person who asked him: "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" What's his name said: "Practice, man, practice!" So here's how I do a few of my best moves. You can watch the video and dance along. But don't expect to be as good as me right away. Egypt wasn't built in a day.
And by the way - keep those questions coming! It keeps my mind off those noisy orphans!
Well, I never thought of giving dance lessons, but not that ya mention it, sure, why not? Why don't ya start with "The Hannnigan" which ya saw above. When ya master that one, I'll teach ya some more. And thanks for the compliment. No one ever gives me those.
I tried your dance moves, starting with the classic French move, La Poussée de Chaise... or, The Chair Thrust for those not well-versed in French like you and me. I attempted La Poussée de Chaise in the living room where I had a long, unobstructed path. I wanted to be just like you. Perhaps the next time I try this, I should have the front door close. I pushed off, sailed out the door and onto the front lawn...
...have you ever had a rabbit and two squirrels laugh at you, Miss Hannigan? No, I bet you haven't. I'm coming to find you... and I'm bringing the rabbit and the squirrels with me.
Ya should never have tried that. As any dancer knows, the chair thrust is only for us professionals. I do appreciate your dedication to the finer things in life, though.
Regarding the squirrels and rabbit laughing at ya. Yeah, that’s happened to me. More times than I’d like to admit. But here’s what I do. Feed ‘em to the orphans! That’ll show em! Wipes the smiles right off their faces! The animals too!
I ain't a slacker. You of all people should know that. Matter of fact, while you say I was "slacking" one of my former orphans made her debut in PARIS doing the Hannigan dance move. Look at my latest blog if ya don't believe me. And I was on the radio! Here's proof: http://cgabriel.com/2011/08/03/jennifer-kirkeby-talent-defined/
Dear Miss Hannigan,
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what amazing moves, do you ever give private lessons? Great musical taste too.
